The Orion Nebula, a stellar nursery located 1,350 light-years away, has long captivated astronomers with its star-forming processes and detailed structures. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) in the United States and China’s Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), has revealed a hidden aspect of this celestial wonder: the distribution of neutral atomic hydrogen. This detailed map, the most comprehensive of its kind, showcases an intricate network of shells, cavities, and filaments that were previously invisible in optical observations.
